Young Minds Want to Learn Math and Science
The Praxair Foundation is fueling that desire by supporting a program that helps get young students excited about pursuing careers in engineering. It’s called the Connecticut Pre-Engineering Program (CPEP), and it is offered in 11 school districts, at 35 schools and touches the lives of more than 800 students a year.
As widely reported in the media, there is an ever-increasing need in the U.S. to increase the number of students pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering and math.
By providing innovative, hands-on, out-of-school (after school, Saturday and summer camp) activities in science, technology, engineering and math, the CPEP is helping schools prepare underrepresented youths for careers in these critical areas.
