How do we accomplish that?
Through innovative out-of-school programs, CPEP provides underrepresented students in Connecticut exposure and opportunities that encourage the pursuit of careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics while instilling in them the knowledge, skills, and attitudes for success in STEM. Each program is composed of similar elements to ensure success.
Common core aligned
The program curriculum is designed to align with common core standards in math and science in order to help build the knowledge and skills students need so they can be successful in college, career, and life.
21st Century skills
Through a combination of hands-on projects and use of modern technology, students learn how to think critically, creatively, and solve problems in a collaborative setting.
Students are responsible for project management, research and design, manufacturing, and building the interpersonal skills necessary for entering the workforce.
Our program structure aims to create a broader lens through which students view other races, cultures and communities and reduce isolation caused by differences in social, ethnic, and economic backgrounds.
